Explore. Discover. Play. Wander WILDly!
Members in the Growth Alberta Partnership also participate in WILD Alberta tourism initiatives.
From the untamed crown land surrounding Swan Hills to the forested foothills of Woodlands County to the vast prairie landscapes around Mayerthorpe, our region is home to a wide array of tourism destinations and opportunities. WILD Alberta promotes destinations and activities around the region and beyond.
Members and businesses alike can advertise in our annual online Visitors Guide and tourism providers can add to our online events calendar. Both WILD Alberta’s and the Growth Alberta Partnership’s social media accounts will promote local operators and offerings.

Generation GAP
Shaping Our Communities: Future Leaders in Action!
In the lyrics from Whitney Houston’s “The Greatest Love of All”, she told us that “children are our future”. Involving young people in crafting that future not only makes sense; it’s critical.
The Growth Alberta Partnership (GAP) is providing an opportunity for young people to have input into the regional socio-economic decision-making process. Through our Generation GAP initiative, young people can get involved in local government and, by extension, regional collaboration.
Discussions around socio-economic issues will be encouraged, and the group will be supported by GAP’s Board of Directors and Executive Director.
Emissions Project
GAP has successfully secured an NRED (Northern and Regional Economic Development) grant. We intend to employ this funding to provide educational outreach to both the youth and general public on the subjects of emissions reduction and energy development.
Given the prevalence of discussions surrounding the carbon tax, net-zero, and emissions on social media, it has become evident that there is a widespread lack of understanding among individuals regarding the implications of these issues and their potential impact on future generations.
Through this initiative, our objective is to facilitate understanding among the populace regarding emissions reduction efforts and how that will positively influence the well-being of future generations.

The Rural Renewal Stream (RRS) of the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) is designed to help rural communities attract and retain skilled workers by offering a pathway to permanent residency. Through this community-driven initiative, designated regions can address labour shortages while welcoming newcomers ready to build vibrant, thriving lives.

GAP is proud to be the first and only Regional Economic Development Alliance (REDA) in Alberta to be recognized as a designated community under the RRS. By working together across member municipalities, GAP has created a supportive framework for newcomers, connecting local employers with qualified candidates and offering critical settlement support.

Those interested in the RRS must secure a full-time job offer from an employer in a designated community and obtain an official Endorsement of Candidate letter. With these, they can apply through the AAIP for permanent residency, opening the door to a future rooted in opportunity.

By leading the way, GAP not only strengthens the workforce across our region but also helps shape a more diverse, dynamic, and resilient future for rural Alberta.
